Resistance and Liberation

Resistance and Liberation, version beta 1.6, is an Half-Life 2 mod. It was created by former 506th realism Unit members that wished to bring players a more realistic, world war 2, team-play based game experience.

Since it is still on a beta version, the game has a lot of bugs and glitches. It rarely happens but, from time to time, the weapons disappear from your screen; when changing weapons it changes to the same one you had before; there is some delay in the response of the commands; some of the animations are glitched and others are simply too slow (not realistic); when you climb an obstacle the players mesh might be a bit displaced giving it a weird look; etc... A bit annoying I might say but, despite the great numbers of bugs, they are nothing that important that will stop u from playing it. There are ways to work around the bugs and glitches.

But, despite all of this inconvenients, the game brings a true realistic gaming experience. They don't exaggerate effects like most games keeping things as they are; the guns were studied to bring the most realistic feel possible, being historically accurate; suppressing fire actually works because bullets flying near you make your vision blur, and the damage you received from the weapons is deadly on the main parts of the body, being easier to die, making it more challenging and making you fear for you life and take cover.

I am a fan of this game... It is just OK when I'm playing with regular people that just charge alone, but, when I play realism (everyone agrees to follow the rules of the game, listening and completing the objectives given by their leader) or get together with friends that, like me, like to see good
tactics working, I just love it. There are few games that make me smile, and get scared like this one. When I hear the bullets flying by I just jump from my seat(keep in mind that I use a headset to increase game immersing) and when I get behind a mg42, shredding every enemy that tries to come at me, I just get like... "MUAHAHA! Take that b****!" Honestly... Most games have underpowered weapons to make it easier and more even for everyone. A tip... DON'T!!! When it comes to this types of games you have to consider that, in real life, weapons have their own limits and, despite their power, they also have flaws. So, what I'm trying to say, is that they are already "balanced" by their own nature, so just don't change it cuse you'll probably end up making a boring game.
